Governor of South Australia Visit to SA Pathology

The Governor of South Australia, His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC attended our Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Lab in the Royal Adelaide Hospital on Wednesday 20 May to meet the team responsible for establishing and managing COVID-19 testing in South Australia.
The Governor was impressed by both the laboratory and SA Pathology staff who he commended for their passion and commitment to delivering excellence in pathology for all South Australians.
The visit followed a meeting with Mark McNamara, Executive Director SA Pathology several weeks ago, where they enjoyed a broad discussion about the work SA Pathology is doing to support the state’s coronavirus response.
The Governor has followed SA Pathology’s story throughout our savings and reform program, and particularly our handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Governor expressed his wish to stay abreast of key initiatives SA Pathology undertakes in the future as he feels strongly that we will continue to go from strength to strength.
